Instrumentation

Instrument Technicians are involved in installation and maintenance of equipment used in the measurement, process and control for plant relating to the manufacturing, oil and gas, food, steel making and petro-chemical industries.

   
What will be covered in the training at NETA?
  • Health and Safety
  • Basic Electric Skills
  • Safe and correct use of Tools and Equipment
  • The calibration of instrument control loops

 

 

UNDERPINNING KNOWLEDGE OF:-

Electricity, Electrical Safety, use of calibration and test equipment, instrument symbols and drawings, units of process measurement, pneumatic and electronic systems, measurement principles of pressure, level, flow and temperature, basic automatic control and its associated equipment (i.e. control valves), distributed control systems, basic installation techniques including:- Tray work, impulse lines, conduit, steel wire armoured cable, multi-core cable.
