CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

CAD operators have a general role covering aspects of piping design, electrical and instrumentation, mechanical equipment or civil/structural design.  Design technicians get involved at all stages of a project, creating specialised technical specifications. Often going on to site as part of a trouble-shooting team, they get to see the finished design which helps them understand what's involved. You can add to your skills at work and maybe aim to become a supervisor or manager, or go into other industries such as architecture, or motor manufacture design.
